Coaches Bios:
Steve Warren - Volley@theramp.net - Head Coach - Steve has been the impetus and driving force behind the Exterminators since its inception in 1992. Steve is a full-time Exterminator in Barrington Illinois, but volleyball has been his passion since college. Steve has been coaching volleyball since 1976. Every year Steve scouts the nation to find and recruit the top talent for his teams. Steve has won the USA Open Nationals 3 times and is not slowing down anytime soon.
Don Cohen - dlcohen@aol.com - Assistant Coach - Don has been coaching with Steve since 1992. Don also serves as the team's licensed chiropractor. Don has been a staple in the New England coaching community for many years.
Danielle Scott-Arruda - Assistant Coach - Danielle has played in the1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and the 2012 Summer Olympics, breaking a U.S. female volleyball athlete record for Olympic appearances. Scott was a Three-Time First-Team American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American and was the National Player of the Year in 1993 from Long Beach State. In 1993, she led the 49ers to the NCAA National Championship and won the Honda Sports Award as the top college volleyball player. She was AVCA All-Northwest Region and the Big West Conference Player of the Year, as she led the nation in hitting percentage. In 1992, she was the Big West Conference Player of the Year and helped Long Beach State to the NCAA semifinals. In 1991, she helped Long Beach to the NCAA championship match. Danielle joined the Exterminators as a player/coach in 2018 and hopes to be around for many more seasons to come!
Sam Shweisky - Shweisky@Princeton.edu - Assistant Coach - Sam coached with the Exterminator staff from the summer of 2005 until the summer of 2013. Sam is currently the head men's coach at Princeton University.
Mike Vajo - michaelvajo@comcast.net - Assistant Coach - The addition of coach Vajo to the exterminator staff in 2012 resulted in a 2012 PVL Championship! Coincidence? We think not!
Bob Gardiner - Thebeastofbarrington@gmail.com - Manager - Bob has been accompanying Steve to Nationals on and off as the team's manager since 2000. Bob has also served as the team's videographer.
Cliff Hankins - Manager - Cliff has been accompanying Steve to Nationals as the team's manager since 2011. Cliff also serves as the team's videographer.
Mitch Stemm - msjrcoord@aol.com - Team Representative - Mitch joined the Exterminator staff in 2012 and has been made a huge impact on the program. Mitch is the commissioner of the Hoosier Region of USA Volleyball, who the Hoosier Exterminators represent in the PVL.
